The first tech-support guy

December 14, 2009

I tried to forward this to some select folks, but my rat-bastard internet provider doesn’t have the sophistication or capacity to handle something this large; so I send it along via this venue.  (Thanks Heather.)

Few or no email services allow easy embedding of videos. It’s a ” it can be done, but”, with a major but. For instance, often people use JavaScript or Flash which is not supported, so your video will not play. It’s sort of like you both have to have the same program coming and going. There are trick off-site services that’ll make it look like you’re sending it, but it’s still really a link back to a host. Your solution is probably the best. So don’t blame your provider. Oh hell, blame them even it is unfair. You’ll feel better about it in the long run.

Which is more information than I find necessary. I pay for the internet service like I pay for a car; and like I exoect the car to start, I expect the god damn messages to go through when I punch the button — no excuses.

It got to me just fine and I am flooding the universe with it. Many say they haven’t laughed this hard in years. Unfortunately, it reminds me of me.
